    Job Summary

    The School of Basic Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe invites applications for a twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent and extramurally funded research program, and contribute to teaching professional and graduate courses in the areas of pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry or pharmacology, as well as participate in assigned committee meetings and contribute to service in the college committees.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    Teaching
    Faculty are expected to provide basic and advanced instruction in the pharmaceutical sciences to professional and graduate students. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the School Director. Specific responsibilities may include:
    • Coordination or Co-coordination of (a) team taught course(s).
    • Provision of lectures in team taught courses. This responsibility includes providing appropriate exam questions covering the material taught in a timely manner.
    • When appropriate, provision of a single instructor course (Serving as coordinator and lecturer)
    Scholarship
    The School relies upon tenure-track faculty to support the School's extramural funding and create national and international recognition for scholarship at the institution. It is expected that tenure-track faculty will maintain an independent, extramurally- funded research program that contributes new knowledge.

    Service
    Service to the College and University is expected by all faculty. Examples of service include:
    • Serving as a member, secretary or chair of a Departmental, School, College or University committee.
    • Participation in graduation ceremonies and other ceremonies or events.
    • Participation in Local, State and National Professional Organizations.
    • Provision of Community service.
    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates should have an earned doctorate in pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology or related fields and at least two years of postdoctoral research experience in the relevant field is preferred.
