GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II is responsible to assist in the performance of invasive testing and interventional procedures used in the detection and treatment of the heart and circulatory system within Cardiac Catheter, CTO and Structural Heart procedure rooms.

They must also be proficient in the functions of Monitoring, Circulating and Scrubbing.

The cardiac catheterization lab is the "heart" of the hospital where innovative, lifesaving, minimally invasive procedures are performed to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease.

The cardiac cath lab is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology used to view the arteries and check how well blood is flowing to and from the heart.

The cardiac cath lab at Henry Ford Wyandotte hospital provides 24- hour coverage by an expert team of board-certified interventional cardiologists, nurses and technicians who have special training in a variety of invasive diagnostic, interventional cardiac procedures as well as endovascular procedures.

EDUCATION/

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent academic program and experience.)

CERTIFICATIONS/

LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI).
Valid BCLS certification required/ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
