- Develop and implement virtual lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for growth. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Collaborate virtually with parents, general education teachers, and support staff to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address the academic, social, and emotional goals of each student.
- Utilize virtual learning platforms and educational technology tools to enhance instruction and create an interactive and inclusive virtual classroom experience.
- Stay abreast of best practices in virtual special education instruction and participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills.
- Establish clear and effective communication channels with students, parents, and the broader school community to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
- Valid Illinois teaching license with special education endorsement
- Valid PEL
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience in special education.
- Strong understanding of virtual learning platforms and technology tools
