    This position is designated as work-from-home.

    Description:
    DevSecOps Engineer who can engineer and support an Enterprise Grade Cloud-Native Application.

    This position works with Solution Architects to contribute to the design and implementation of a solution that meets the functional, performance and security needs of the project.

    The position will be part of a customer-facing agile development team that will also provide operational support to the production system.


    Essential Functions & Duties:
    Design and implement the AWS infrastructure for a containerized (ECS) XaaS system.
    Contribute to ongoing system maintenance, security compliance, and feature development.
    Participate in team meetings to refine business requirements into deliverable, testable efforts.
    Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS.
    Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS.
    Coordinates with Technical Leads on technology choices and pattern adoption.
    Provides operational support as needed to wildfire decision support systems.

    Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:
    The ideal candidate will be accustomed to working in a very fast paced team environment. Must be decisive, drive results through others and offer constructive criticism when appropriate.
    3+ Years' Experience with XaaS architecture, REST APIs, and containerization with Docker and ECS.

    3+ years of demonstrable AWS experience in: SQS, ECS, CloudFormation, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Systems Management Parameter Store, S3, IAM, CloudWatch Metrics, RDS, EventBridge.

    3+ years of development experience with the AWS SDK (Java strongly preferred).
    Hands-on experience working in a Linux environment, but Windows familiarity a plus.
    Exhibit excellent problem solving and data analysis skills.
    Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as appropriate.
    Able to work at the highest technical level of all phases of application development and systems analysis.

    Citizenship or Work Authorization Required:
    Ability to obtain Federal Government Position of Trust.
    Must be authorized to legally work in the United States.
    Must pass a background investigation.

    Preferred Education & Experience:
    AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
    Experiences in providing support on Assessment and Authorization process of Federal government agencies information security standards.

    Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs.

    As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances.

    The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

    It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

    A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $133,000 – $190,000.

    The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee.

    The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.
