Our client is a leading energy company based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are currently seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.


Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a transmission planning engineer
• Experience with PSS/E software for power system analysis
• Familiarity with TARA for transient stability assessment
• Proficiency using ASPEN for steadystate voltage analysis
• Knowledgeable about PSCAD simulation software

Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include but not limited to;

• Perform load flow studies and contingency analyses.
• Develop transmission plans that meet regulatory requirements while minimizing costs.
• Conduct feasibility studies related to new interconnections between existing systems.
• Coordinate closely within other departments such as Control Room Operations & Project Management teams.

Sector/Industry Focus :

This role requires prior knowledge of LVI (Low Voltage Infrastructure) technology standards used primarily by Texas utilities companies who have much more strict regulations around grid reliability than most other states.

Salary:
$100000 per annum plus benefits
