    Community Living Staff 2 (CLS 2)

    McKinley Square, a DePaul Community Residence-Single Room Occupancy (CR-SRO) Program, is hiring a per diem Community Living Staff. This role works as an effective member of the team to assist residents in carrying out their service plan goals and objectives in a person-centered approach.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provide teaching, monitoring, and recovery-oriented supports according to OMH 595 regulations, including:
      • Assertiveness/Self-Advocacy Training
      • Community Integration/Resource Development
      • Daily Living Skills
      • Health Services
      • Medication Management/Training
      • Parenting Training
      • Rehabilitative Counseling
      • Skill Development
      • Socialization
      • Substance Abuse Services
      • Symptom Management
    2. Assist the Medication Coordinator with supervising resident medications according to physician orders and agency policy.
    3. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident medication records.
    4. Communicate relevant information about a resident's mental and physical status to the Residential Services Coordinator or Supervisor on site.
    5. Complete basic documentation in the resident file regarding psychiatric concerns, medical concerns, progress, or other significant events.
    6. Ensure daily tasks and assignments are completed as directed by the Residential Services Coordinator or Supervisor on site.
    7. Filling in on overnight shifts: complete rounds at least four times per shift to monitor the program and intervene when necessary. Work with Overnight security to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
    8. Share information with supervisor or administrative staff regarding problems or concerns that occur during the shift.
    9. Work with residents to maintain the upkeep of their personal rooms.
    10. Coordinate and participate in recreational activities for residents.
    11. Maintain resident confidentiality and demonstrate a caring, positive attitude towards all residents, staff, family members, guests, and service providers.
    12. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required by the agency.
    13. Work as a member of the residential team for each resident and provide input for treatment team meetings and Continued Stayed Reviews.
    14. Transport residents safely when needed.
    15. Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the program.

    Qualifications

    A minimum of a High School diploma or GED and ability to demonstrate verbal and written skills necessary for the success of the program. At least one year of experience in a residential setting working with people in various stages of recovery from mental illness is preferred. A valid New York State driver's license that meets qualifications set by the agency's clean driver record policy is required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
