Position Summary Information
Objective
Instructor will assist in various functions including design, development, setup, execution, and course evaluations. Instructor will be responsible for conducting full-scale and scaled exercise simulations along with custom training courses. Instructor will be responsible for following approved curriculum course outlines.
Instructor will also be responsible for utilizing knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to ensure learner success and achieve overall effectiveness of course instruction.
Instructor will also be responsible for using a variety of media to present course material and will assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner needs.
Essential DutiesTeach non-credit and credit classes; continuously review curriculum and methods to improve the quality of instruction; use a variety of hands-on teaching methods to train adults; evaluate student progress and constantly communicate with students and Blinn administration; keep accurate student records and certification files; other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
At least 36 months work experience as a Power Line Worker; US DOL Journeyman Lineman Certified; knowledge and experience in all phases of power line work; knowledge and experience with all tools required for power line work; ability to read blueprints and specifications to determine a work plan;
Preferred Experience and Training
An associate degree in a related field
Physical Requirements
Ability to use a variety of hand tools and carpentry specific tools; able to climb ladders to heights of at least 20 feet; able to lift 50 pounds to a height of three feet; able to perform all normal and expected duties of a carpenter
Required Degree, License or Certifications
US DOL Journeyman Lineman Certified
