- Underwrites and perform financial analysis for real estate acquisitions and asset management decisions including the preparation of cash flow projections in Excel and ARGUS
- Assists in and analyzes potential investments; prepares investment committee materials used to evaluate opportunities
- Develops opinions on Target Markets by researching supply/demand fundamentals and maintaining competitive set analyses for each target property type/submarket
- Builds and maintain comparable sales database related to target markets
- Supports the overall due diligence and closing process, including legal and asset management through all aspects of acquisition/development to disposition
- Assists in the evaluation of capitalization and financing strategies
- Develops and implements financial models to support credit analysis
- Assists in other projects and any other duties as requested/assigned, as required
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Business, Economics or Finance or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of experience in commercial real estate or a related field; experience in office and industrial underwriting preferred
- Familiarity with real estate finance as well as basic real estate operations, leasing and/or development concepts
- Advanced analytical skills, including the proven ability to perform financial modeling using Excel and preferred experience with ARGUS and/or related asset management software.
- Strong underwriting ability, including deep understanding of property valuation utilizing discounted cash flow methodology, submarket fundamental forecasting and comparable analysis.

Mortenson Properties, Inc is looking for an Investment Analyst who will be responsible for underwriting and complex financial modeling, including the preparation of cash flow projections, analysis of potential investments, and the research and maintenance of competitive set analyses for target markets. Provides financial analysis to support portfolio management, commercial real estate opportunities and investment decisions.
