Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is currently seeking a **Per Diem Cook** to work at **Pathways to Housing**, a shelter located in **Newark, NJ.** Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is one of New Jerseys largest non-profit social service agencies with programs and facilities serving Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties.

**Schedule:** (1) Sat and Sun 10a-6pm (2 ) Sat and Sun 1pm-9p

**Duties**

The Cook is responsible for the ordering of food, planning menus, and preparation of nutritious meals within the given budget

He or she ensures proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and cooking utensils, maintains proper food storage regarding temperature and expiration dates, and oversees the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, and food pantry.

**Job Requirements**

High school diploma or GED and 2 to 3 years related experience

Certificate of Food Handling and Safety from the New Jersey Department of Agriculture (the candidate should have upon hire or work towards obtaining upon hire)
