The polysomnographic technologist prepares the pediatric patient for overnight physiologic studies-polysomnograms (PSG), collects vital signs and other pertinent information to ensure proper interpretation by the physician/polysomnographer.
- Prepares the child (and parent) in an age appropriate manner by explaining all procedures involved in setting up the polysomnogram.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient's medical problems and physiological events
- Collaboration with co-workers, physicians and other departments within the health system
