    Job Description:

    We are seeking a Heavy Equipment CDL Driver to join our team at EquipmentShare in Charleston, SC. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering equipment, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner.

    Schedule and Benefits

    The role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with opportunities for overtime pay after working 40 hours. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, generous paid time off (PTO), company-paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Operate vehicles according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
    • Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations
    • Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when necessary
    • Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff
    • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment

    Requirements

    • A valid commercial driver's license or chauffeur's license, depending on the state, for operating vehicles up to 10k lbs
    • Pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations
    • Pass DOT physical examination
    • Be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time
    • Lift and move objects up to 40 pounds at a time
    • Frequent travel
