    Job Description:
    Position Overview:
    The Director, Network Relations is responsible for being the key adviser to the business unit leader, directing strategy and managing a broad array of special projects for the business unit. Specifically, the Director will be accountable for leading and coordinating teams that provide support of operational activities across Discover Bank's relationship with Discover Network, in accordance with the Bank's network support model. As the Director, you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of operational professionals and building key business relationships across several functional areas within Discover's credit card issuing business and Discover Global Network. This role is also responsible for providing operational, business and technical input on the strategies necessary to support the business and in accordance with Discover Bank & Discover Network's Intercompany Agreement. The Director architects and ensures an adequate control environment exists as well as fully supporting all first line of defense risk.
    Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.
    Responsibilities:

    • Serves as a thought partner in addressing critical issues within the business
    • Manages team and provides oversight of the team responsibilities as well as development activities.
    • Provides logistical support and thought leadership for many of the activities intended to set strategic direction and maintain alignment within business unit.
    • Manages and interprets Finance-provided data related to business unit performance or financial plan.
    • Responsible for being the key adviser to the card business unit leader, directing card product strategy and managing a broad array of special projects for the business unit.
    • Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization through leading and coordination of teams that support operational activities across Discover Bank's relationship with Discover Network., in accordance with the Bank's network support model.
    • Leader will be responsible for managing and developing a team of operational professionals and building key business relationships across several functional areas within Discover's credit card issuing business and Discover Global Network. Responsible for providing operational, business and technical input on the strategies necessary to support the business and in accordance with Discover Bank & Discover Network's Intercompany Agreement. Architects and ensures an adequate control environment exists as well as fully supporting all first line of defense risk efforts.


    Minimum Qualifications
    At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

    • Bachelors Finance, Business Administration and Management, or Engineering
    • 10+ years Financial Services, Management Consulting, or related experience
    • 2+ years People Management, or related experience
    • In lieu of education, 12+ years Financial Services, Management Consulting or related experience


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters in Finance, Business Administration and Management, or Engineering

    Compensation:
    The base pay for this position generally ranges between $173,000.00 to $263, Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
