- Have a good understanding of manufacturing equipment and how it works
- Basic electrical safety and some skills to fix common electrical issues
- Basic welding and fabrication skills and the safety surrounding that equipment
- Be able to safely operate machine centered equipment
- Familiarity with a form of MMS software
- Understand production needs
- Maintain a clean work area and tools
- Maintain welding equipment
- Maintain and utilize a milling machine and a band saw
- Basic mathematical calculation skills
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with MMS software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to operate lift equipment (pallet jack or lift truck and battery-controlled lifts)
- Can prioritize jobs and tasks
- Be able to safely use power tools, work on a variety of different types of equipment, and fix common problems quickly and efficiently
- Team orientated
- Self-motivated, can work with little supervision
- Good trouble shooting skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma
- 1-2 years' experience machine maintenance preferred.
- Standing and walking 90% of the shift
- Can lift up to 50 lbs.
- Can lower rolls of plastic film to the floor and pick them up with a power lift and place on machine
- Be able to push, pull, squat, bend or reach 80% of the workday
- Be able to handle, grasp, and perform repetitive motions
- Have eye/hand/foot coordination
- Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 60 degrees to 90+ depending on the season and the department
