    Incumbent must pass Nutrition Service Assistant III Test with a 75% or better


    Required:
    Serve-Safe or equivalent certification, valid California Driver's License, proof of Liability Insurance.

    Position typically requires completion of high school curriculum, formal training in meal planning, sanitation, record keeping, and general cafeteria methods, and three year of experience in institutional cooking in an education or equivalent setting.

    Basic knowledge of food production line processes. Sufficient arithmetic skills to compute weights, measures, counts, and portions. Requires sufficient reading skills to interpret menus, ingredient lists, and preparation instructions. Good writing and communication skills, computer literate in the use of eTrition, Nutri Kids and email. Please see Job Description

    Performs institutional quantity baking, cooking, and a variety of food preparation duties according to planned menus, recipes, and the number of persons to be served.

    Assists in coordinating the work of Food Service Assistants for food preparation.

    The Nutrition Service Assistant III is capable of performing work at a central food production facility or satellite kitchen, but will usually be assigned to one:
    Central Kitchen, Satellite Kitchen, Catering Site or Remote Site. Capable of coordinating, leading, and performing scratch cooking and baking that usually requires more than one production phase.
