**Job Description**
Grand Canyon University's Golf Course is seeking a full-time Head Bartender/Restaurant Supervisor.
The Head Bartender/Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for leadership of food service operations to ensure that customers are served promptly & courteously, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, and at all times in line with hygiene and safety regulations and all customers who visit the facilities have their expectations met and exceeded. This position is also responsible for facilitating and implementing service systems, menu development, communication, administration and financial controls for all food and beverage operations and events held at facility.
This role is on a rotational coverage for the food operations and will perform the daily supervisory tasks of the restaurant supervisor as needed.
**Responsibilities:**
Responsible for supervision of restaurant service operations.
Creates service environment which assists the business to establish a regular clientele whilst promoting and continually upselling and maximizing every sales opportunity.
Ensures work schedules meet service volume needs.
Serves as bartender; rotating role as needed to coverage.
Ensures all staff provide exceptional customer service in all touch points with customers (information, greeting, food service, bar service, retail service).
Ensure events surpass customers expectations.
Handle all logistics, coordination and communication to ensure customer booked events have adequate service and kitchen staff to handle the event.
Works with Golf Course Management to book events as directed. This could include booking events requested by guests of the course or visiting local businesses to solicit bookings.
Establishes growth goal for events with golf course management.
Trains service staff to actively promote all food service items, beverages, liquor and fine wine to increase average spends.
Establish/update/maintain customer service standards and ensure all staff are trained to ensure service meets GCU standards.
Establish/update food service par stock standards and service station en mise standards; ensure all service staff know and understand standards.
Establish proper cash handling procedures in concert with management; audit on regular basis to ensure no corrective action is needed.
Ensure service training covers all food handling and safety regulations required; responsible for ongoing adherence to regulations by staff.
Establish procedures for accidents, how to report, how to take appropriate action and ensure all service staff are informed of procedures.
To promote a positive attitude and team ethos, including lead by example, for the department, setting the pace and standards and encouraging mutual respect.
Inspire & motivate the team to achieve customer service standards which would have an impact on revenue and profitability.
Train and develop the team to ensure service standards are met to provide customer satisfaction.
**Qualifications:**
Minimum 2 years experience in food service operations; primarily as head bartender.
Willingness to work as part of the management team.
Able to work a flexible shift schedule for bartender coverage.
Bachelors Degree in Hospitality related discipline, preferred.
Ability to pass pre-employment background check.
Strong knowledge of beverage service and mixology.
Basic knowledge of catering and group business sales/events.
Demonstrates excellent customer services skills and is able to train and teach staff customer service skills.
Computer skills and POS experience required.
Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations.
Working knowledge of responsible Service standards for alcohol.
Self-motivated and shows initiative to start and complete tasks.
Good communications skills with a good command of the English language.
Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays or extended hours as needed.
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
