    Department:

    Endoscopy

    Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Head Nurse assisting the Physician during Endoscopy Procedures. Provides a variety of basic patient care activities according to the age appropriate and developmental needs of the patient. Cleans and maintains unit equipment and supplies.

    Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

    Performs other duties as assigned.


    • Cleans and maintains all equipment on the Endoscopy Unit.
    2. Keeps current with manufacturer's recommendation on cleaning and sterilizing equipment.

    3. Orders and maintains unit stock supplies.

    4. Stocks patient rooms with appropriate supplies.

    5. Sets up for procedures as requested.

    6. Demonstrates knowledge and skills for appropriate entry of patient data in the electronic medical record.

    7.

    Assists with patient care under the direct supervision of the RN according to the age appropriate and developmental needs of the patient.

    8.

    Contributes to the smooth flow and the rapid turnover of procedures by transporting patients, setting up the procedure cart, mobilizing and pre-testing equipment and participating in room clean up whenever necessary.

    9. Assists with Surgical Processing Technician III duties as assigned.

    10. Takes call for after hour emergency procedures.

    11. Facilitates physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of the patient.

    12. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education:
    Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or GED.

    Licensure: Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards. Completion of Nurse Aide Certification course preferred. Medical Assistant Training preferred. Medical terminology course desired. Ability to read, write and speak English required.

    Experience: One (1) year acute care hospital experience preferred.

    The hourly rate for this position is $28.52- $34.66. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
