    Description

    Duties * Responsible for protection of government and personal property; control of access of personnel and vehicles to the installation * Enforce federal state, and local laws and official orders and regulations.

    * Provide advice/counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.

    * Perform supervisory and administrative duties relating to the security guard force Requirements Conditions of Employment * Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 22, 2021, or before entrance on duty if after November 22, subject to exceptions as required by law.

    * If selected, the agency will provide information regarding what documentation is needed and how to request any legally required exceptions from this requirement.

    * Proof of vaccination will be required.

    To ensure compliance with this mandate, review the vaccination requirements, to include timelines for receiving required doses, at the following:
    * Position requires a Tier - Secret clearance. * Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals. * IAW AR 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply. * Position requires shift work, or a change in work shift. * Position is subject to drug random drug testing. * Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons. * Position requires an annual medical exam of physical, emotional, and mental stability. * Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training. * Position requires maintaining current certifications in CPR techniques. * Position requires the wearing of chemical protection gear. * Position requires maintaining physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT). * Incumbent must be fully qualified to operate a government vehicle. * Position requires wearing of the Department of Army Security Guard uniform. * Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors. * Incumbent must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments. Incumbent must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability. *LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT: Must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.

    Specialized Experience:
    One year of specialized experience which includes 1)Protection of government and personal property; control of access of personnel and vehicles to the installation, enforcement federal, state, and local laws and official orders and regulations and 2) performance of supervisory and administrative duties relating to the security guard force, and providing advice or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

    Grade Requirement:
