    Contract School Nurse School Year

    ProCare Therapy isworking with a school district located in Kansas City, KS that is looking to hire an LPN for the school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.

    As the School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, providing essential healthcare services, and fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment.

    The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. While undergoing your assignment, you will be provided with: competitive compensation, weekly paychecks, and superior healthcare benefits through United Healthcare.

    Schedule:

    • Full time: 35hours/week
    • Monday - Friday
    • Hours: 8:00 - 3:30
    • August 8th, May 21st, 2025
    • Float school nurse
    • K-12th grade
    • 1-4 school sites
    • Responsibilities: diabetic care, asthma care, medication administration, classroom assistance, communicating with staff and parents,etc.

    Essential duties:

    • Provide health screening services (hearing, vision, scoliosis) and follow up on issues identified.
    • Maintain a list of students with major health conditions and provide updates to the staff.
    • Assess student records for compliance with state mandates for immunization and physical exam requirements.
    • Monitor medications given at school.
    • Provide emergency care when on site.
    • Identify communicable diseases and refer to medical provider; conduct a program to prevent the spread of disease.
    • Maintain health records on all students.
    • Respond to teacher concerns about student health issues.
    • Provide special procedures, or instruct others in their application, that are required by students with special needs.
    • Make home visits as appropriate.
    • Provide current health and developmental information on students during the Student Study Team process

    Requirements:

    • Active LPN licensed in Kansas
    • CPR & BLS certified
    • Previous pediatric or school nursing experience is preferred
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
