We are actively hiring a Ruby on Rails Developer to join our Mission Technology & Solutions Division working in Herndon, VA
Our Software Developer position requires the ability to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug complex software applications
The candidate must be passionate about programming, passionate about quality, and enjoy communicating and working with end-users
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
RESPONSIBILITIES Work as a member of a cross-functional team to develop new web-based modules using Ruby on Rails to create API code creating an end-to-end connection between a PostgreSQL database and an AngularJS UI
Take loosely defined specs, work with our team to define them, and help us establish milestones
Create and enhance existing API code base
Successfully interact with product owners, software testers, other developers, program management, and system architect on a daily basis to produce high quality results in a timely fashion
Remain current on web development techniques
Suggest new tools and methods to improve development efficiency
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Professional experience developing Ruby API code
Hands-on experience with a cloud services provider such as AWS
Strong communication skills
Experience working in Agile, SAFe, and Scrum environments
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field (i.e
Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science)
