Staff EMC Design Engineer - Andover, MA

Job summary
This role is based out of our beautiful Andover, MA facility which offers many benefits including an onsite fitness center with yoga and fitness training classes onsite game rooms a full service cafeteria free parking and more Andover supports the design and assembly of our patient monitoring products This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in the Andover MA office Travel up to 10%. The job responsibilities include ensuring that products meet safety standards for clearance providing cost effective EMC design guidance needed for compliance with EMC and Safety requirements as they pertain to Medical equipment Supporting NRTL and EMC test laboratories during the product approval process including support for FDA submissions Being an active member of AAMI committees on Electrical Safety and Electromagnetics to influence Draegers position in standards development.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design reviews to ensure safety requirements are integrated from the concept phase provide detailed design guidance on PCB layouts stackups I/O EMC protection isolation barriers critical components leakage currents
- Interpret apply safety standards primarily IEC General safety Plan execute manage third party lab testing for electrical mechanical integrity thermal hazards Provide technical safety data performance testing results to support efforts Perform EMI testing troubleshoot EMI problems recommend cost effective solutions minimal impact Perform product safety testing leakage currents defibrillation Prepare test plans reports internal verification reports documentation required external testing agencies Support product testing at houses NRTLS Duties related to Andovers management committee Participate AAMI committees Influence Draegers positiion development Work closely Systems Engineering Risk Management Clinical groups developing certification requirements Support customer complaint department root cause analysis issues relating Make site visits when necessary Performs other duties assigned.
