    This position is accountable for protecting life and Company property. Officer is responsible for running patrol duties, and all Fire protection functions the department is responsible for. In addition, we provide emergency services to the plant protecting against fire, EMS, HazMat, and rescue. We also secure the property from improper ingress and egress. Cover for Medical when they are closed under Occu-Med Protocols.

    The work activities of this position are mainly concerned with: Plant Protection, emergency medical treatment, tornado spotter, Security along with emphasis on the utilization of specialized knowledge in the areas investigation, firefighting, fire protection and Hazardous materials response.

    This requires an extensive knowledge of the plant layout and facilities, firefighting techniques and a general awareness of all plant processes.

    Act as Incident Commander on emergencies.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Control Ingress and Egress of personnel, equipment and materials through plant gates in accordance with pass authorization procedures and through vehicle and parcel checks.
    • Monitor/operate plant radio, paging and closed circuit T.V. system.
    • Check fire extinguishers and replace as needed.
    • Monitor plant proprietary fire and intrusion alarm system.
    • Investigate Criminal Activities, Fire Incidents and Accidents and report same on proper forms; coordinate investigation with outside agencies.
    • Collect and preserve evidence as required; take fingerprints, photographs, interview witnesses.
    • Monitor traffic flow to assure smooth flow in and out of the plant and parking areas.
    • Maintain and operate all emergency vehicles and equipment. Make all emergency medical, fire, and hazardous material runs.
    • Administer Hot Work permit system and impaired fire protection system programs.
    • Observe for Safety and Plant rules violations.

    Qualifications:

    • Available to work on different shift schedules
    • EMT-B certified; EMT-P preferred
    • Fire Fighter #1 certified
