    Description
    The Sr.

    QA Engineer will reside in the Maryland office location with regular travel inside the Naval base to work with IPT members and manage the status of program.

    The Sr.

    QA Engineer will also perform quality audits, develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions and maintain system document, conduct capability studies, perform gage studies, manage inspection equipment of calibration activities and manage special projects, and complete First Article submissions.

    The Sr. QA Engineer shall be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance within a 3-month timeframe. The Sr.

    QA Engineer should have very good communication skills, be able work within the IPT structure and be a strong independent thinker.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Quality Assurance (QA) Engineering for DoD Contracting
    Quality liaison for Global Military Products at IHD.
    Develop, evaluate, and identify quality requirements from contractual flow downs.
    Support preparation of SOP's and Work Instructions.
    Actively participates in root cause analysis on failures or issues.
    Capable of implementing statistical process control (SPC) on the production line processes.
    Able to implement the Critical Characteristic Control Plan (CCCP).
    Familiar with AIE/AAIE requirements and submissions.

    Assist the program management team in maintaining a final production design and plan that shall meet the financial requirements/goals of the project.

    Responsible for helping ensure final product quality.
    Responsible for helping to foster a safety-first culture from project initiation.
    Support the Quality IPT and build a good relationship with IHD Engineering counterparts.

    Qualifications and Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field

    At least 6-8 years of experience in Ammunition and Explosive (A&E) programs and a working knowledge of the ISO 9000 quality standards.

    Ability to multitask with high attention to detail
    Excellent time management and strong organizational skills
    Experience with DoD quality processes
    Formal LEAN training (Six-Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, FMEA, etc.) required (Black Belt a plus)
    Excellent communication and presentation skills
    Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    Willingness to travel domestically as required (supplier audits and inspections)

    ISO 9001:2015 training preferred

    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

    Physical Demands, Working Conditions, & Abilities
    Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
    Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
    Occasional travel to suppliers and customers facilities, including Indian Head Naval base.
    Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
    Work will be completed in an office environment and includes some travel.
