    Covenant Aviation Security has an opening for a Security Director located at Denver International Airport. Responsibilities will include providing supervisory oversight of security workforce assigned to DEN, including assisting in the badging, training, scheduling, and administrative duties at that location. This position will report to the Vice President of Commercial Operations.

    Essential Functions

    Oversees security operations through subordinate operation managers, who direct the security workforce.

    Ensure that all contract terms and conditions are met.

    Ensure mission accomplishment and priorities; procedural policy and compliance; and technical competence.

    Plans and organizes the most efficient use of resources to meet these requirements through development and analysis of employee work schedules.

    Oversees workforce efficiency through monitoring schedule assignments and available workforce.

    Assessing employee performance; making selections and promotions.

    Responsibilities also include hearing and resolving complaints from employees; taking disciplinary action; identifying training and developmental needs; improving quality and service performance; developing and being accountable for goals and objectives.

    Assists in developing budgets; directing major program segments; approving awards and other personnel actions; and making decisions on work problems and recommendations.

    Dealing directly with all levels of security management, Airport Authority, law enforcement, labor relations, Federal and State regulatory agencies, airline-contracted personnel, and local government officials.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Must be at least 21 years old.

    U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.

    Possess a valid State of Colorado driver's license or State issued ID.

    Possess a valid Security Guard License issued by the City of Denver.

    A bachelors degree in aviation management, security management, or a closely related field preferred; Seven (7) years of aviation/security management experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.

    A minimum of five (5) years of aviation/security management experience, including three (3) years of experience at a Part 1542 regulated airport.

    Must have or be able to obtain AAAE ACE certification for Security within a year of hire.

    Ability to speak, read, write legibly, and understand English.

    Must be neat, well-groomed, and present a professional appearance.

    Advocate for Covenants customer-focused security and Client service initiatives.

    Physical Demands

    May require standing, sitting, walking for various, possibly extended periods of time.

    Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned duties.

    Capable of lifting a 25 lb. fire extinguisher, lifting, and carrying a small child, and assisting in the lifting of handicapped persons during a building evacuation.

    Be able to perform the duties of their position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Work Environment

    Work may be performed inside or outside with variations of climate control and exposure to elements. Temperature fluctuations seasonally vary.
