    Direct Reports: Quality Eng, Quality &Process Mgr, Quality Co-ord, Supplier Quality Indirect Reports:QA Technicians

    Key Purpose of the Job :

    The role holder is responsible for quality assurance activities undertaken primarily at unit. The key duties include quality check of all raw materials received and finished goods dispatched, managing QMS and increase productivity and cost management through various quality initiatives. Conducting quality audits and supplier management & technical evaluation forms a crucial part of the role. Additionally the incumbent will be responsible for reducing Customer complaints and resolving queries within a defined time frame.

    Job Responsibilities :

    Cost Management:Reduce Cost of Poor Quality due to customer end scrap by ___%Reduce customer end scrap quantity PPM (against dispatch) by __%

    Customer Satisfaction: Timely customer complaint resolution Reduce number of customer complaints by __%Improve customer satisfaction by reducing repeated complaints through improvement projects

    Process Improvement: Adapt new Quality Management Standards and get certified by external agency Set standards, policies, systems and processes to maintain product quality - bring in uniformity in quality standards across units

    Leadership & Development: Talent development/ Employee Engagement Score Succession Planning

    Adherence to System requirements:Conduct regular Quality Audits, identify gaps if any, take corrective measures ( external & internal)Ensure timely conducting Supplier Management and Technical Evaluation

    Key Tasks & responsibilities :

    Strategic Develop annual quality objectives, improvement plan and track the implementation Responsible for increasing productivity through scrap reduction Plan and conduct regular system/ process audits in the unit and drive closure of non conformance Participate in preparation of quality control plans along with Unit Head Establish and implement Six Sigma concept and conduct Six Sigma Training across unit– in line with global operations Build systems to improve asset utilization, manufacturing excellence and supply chain initiatives through six sigma process. Identify good practices within/ outside the company, benchmark with global standards and requirements and implement it uniformly across units Operational Quality Management Responsible for conducting timely audits and ensure conformity in systems and processes Ensure adequate measures are taken in terms of planning and developing methodology for rework and execution Responsible for conducting 'Quality' Induction programs for all employees on periodic basis, also conduct this program for Checkers & Packers (contract staff) Ensure communication of standard Quality Systems and Procedures across Unit Customers, Suppliers / Vendors Ensure maintenance of quality assurance documents at Units especially from Audit perspective .

    Quality Assurance – Unit Standardize quality practices, systems and processes and ensure its uniformly implemented across units Resolve critical issues in coordination with the Unit Head and ensure all quality related issues are resolved on time Responsible for inspection and quality check of inbound and outbound material – incase of any deviations (both lami and plastic tubes), take corrective actions accordingly Responsible for quality inspection of printing materials, job work Build in control checks in the process to monitor adherence to quality procedures Set up, operate and maintain the Unit Testing Labs Plan and coordinate with cross functional teams like Purchase, Production, Engineering etc.. at Unit level to meet the overall quality objectives Responsible for releasing the approved drawings for through the Master Drawing Approved list within the defined time frame

    Vendor Management Plan, control and assess supplier product quality on periodic and qualification basis Declare results of supplier audits and drive corrective actions in case of any deviation observed To conduct review with supplier senior management to escalate and close ongoing issues at Unit level Ensure all vendor / supplier audits are closed within min 30 days to max 45 days

    Customer Management Handle quality concerns at the customer end and ensure their resolution with the defined time frame Ensure timely settlement of quality claims in the QMS system – coordinate with KAM/ Sales team for the same in case of any rejections Ensure the production of Lami/ Plastic tubes is as per the specification set by the Customers, in case of any deviations, must escalate the same to Customers and take measures to fill in

    Developmental Carry out performance appraisals; assess capability, and training needs of individuals in the team Motivate the team for achieving department's objectives.Responsible for retention of key talent and succession planning Develop team's capabilities and keep updated with the latest trends Train and mentor team on Six Sigma Green Belt across the Unit

    Operational Dimensions Preparation and submission of Quality Audit reports Preparation and submission of Technical Evaluation reports for both, existing and new clients

    Administrative Dimensions Vacation and Sick Leave to subordinates Recommendations on promotions / increments of subordinates Recommendations on Training & Development programs

    Education Qualification Required :

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or any relevant qualification .

    Key Skills /Experience Required :

    Minimum 10 plus years of experience in relevant sector, out of which should have spent 3 years in driving quality and process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing capacity 5 years of experience in managerial role is a must Familiarity with packaging sector would be preferred Should be trained Black Belt from reputed company Knowledge of Quality tools like FMEA, PPAP, Control Plan, Six Sigma, problem solving techniques like 7S and Kaizen Strong experience in leading quality audits
