    Description
    This position will have daily oversight of the equine-assisted services being provided at the TGEC CSU Spur facility, including, but not limited to acting as the equine specialist working with providers and volunteers to ensure all necessary safety and other standards are followed. Required Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or the equivalent
  • Current credentials from PATH Intl as a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor
  • Experience educating others about equine-related information, including, but not limited to, equine-assisted services
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, organization, and complex problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and ability to operate in a highly computerized environment
  • Must have a valid drivers license or the ability to obtain a drivers license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date
  • Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in equine sciences or related area
  • Advanced or Master Level PATH Intl CTRI.
  • Experience training and mentoring PATH Intl CTRI instructors-in-training.
  • Experience coordinating and hosting youth educational activities
  • PATH Intl. ESMHL certification
  • Experience coordinating ongoing programming and community engagement.

  • Monitor and/or participate in EAS appointments.
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with facility policies, including PATH standards.
  • Assist Coordinator with facility and program schedule.
  • Assist Equine Manager with equine use, conditioning and training schedule.
  • Assist with general volunteer coordination and training.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate condition and use of equipment, tack, and therapy tools.
  • Assist in providing instructions to or explanations of EAS programming to staff, interns, students, and volunteers.
  • Act as liaison between providers and other TGEC staff.

  • Assist in organizing and hosting special events at TGEC and in community.
