    Default job background
    Description
Thousands of users trust our fast-growing weather safety platform across school districts, cities, universities, golf courses, and other industries. Our software and connected hardware enable rapid decision-making for organizations facing the threat of weather disruption: How long can I wait to pull players off the field for the nearby storm? How should I modify activities to prevent heat stress injuries? When can operations safely resume on the tarmac? How can I be sure my staff adheres to a weather policy?

In the Operational Meteorologist role, you will be a pivotal player in the overall success of our customer's experience. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated success in high-pressure weather forecasting situations and is able to simplify complex weather forecasts into digestible and actionable information. Ideal candidates will possess first-class communication and relationship-building skills, as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Forecasting for a wide variety of customers, from school districts and cities to professional sports teams
    • Fielding inbound calls and emails requesting forecasts and/or weather-related questions
    • Helping our customers make decisions around the weather: Do we cancel or delay the game? What is today's heat safety risk? How will the weather impact our tournament this weekend?
    • Preparing daily proactive forecasts and daily shift reports
    • Assisting with other customer support tasks

    Requirements

    • BS degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences
    • Comfortable in a fast-changing work environment
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented
    • Energized and motivated by spending time with customers and helping them make decisions
    • Please note, this is not a remote job; our office is in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas, TX

    Nice to haves:

    • Familiarity with our core markets including school districts, parks and recreation departments, golf courses, and universities
    • Experience in broadcast or operational meteorology

    Benefits

    • Casual, flexible work environment. Our office is currently located in the Centrum, the Oak Lawn area of Dallas, TX
    • Comprehensive benefits. We offer competitive health insurance plans, 401(k), and a suite of voluntary benefits
    • Engaging culture. Weekly all-hands, fun events like Fair Day, monthly lunch-and-learns, happy hours, and more
    • Grow with us. We're growing rapidly, and yet we have a massive amount of work and opportunity ahead
