Construction Manager – Transit Infrastructure (Long-Term Program)Washington, DC Metro Area

Project Duration:
Through May 2028 (with potential extensions)
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a major transit infrastructure program in the Washington, DC region. This is a long-term assignment supporting a high-profile transportation authority project, working alongside a nationally recognised engineering consultancy.
This role will be offered on a W-2 basis and provides stability through a multi-year task order with potential option year extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain full familiarity with plans, specifications, schedules, and safety requirements
Coordinate between client departments, consultants, and multiple contractors
Support development of construction packages, bidding, evaluations, and award recommendations
Lead weekly progress meetings, readiness reviews, and coordination sessions
Review schedules to ensure compliance with contractual milestones
Manage RFIs, change notices, change orders, and contract modifications
Provide technical and cost analysis support
Oversee quality control compliance and project documentation
Report on budget, schedule, risk, and mitigation strategies
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent progressive experience)
3+ years' experience in construction management or project controls
Strong experience managing construction documentation (RFIs, submittals, correspondence, change orders)
Proficiency with construction management platforms (Procore, Prolog, eBuilder or similar)
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Strong organisational and communication abilities
Experience performing quality control reviews
Preferred:
Experience working on transit or public infrastructure projects
Familiarity with secure or sensitive contract documentation
Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure programs
