    Hazen and Sawyer is actively seeking a Data Engineer/BI Developer with a passion for using technology to make a positive impact on public health and the environment.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the development and lifecycle management of back-end BI solutions, ensuring their effectiveness and reliability.
    • Direct hands-on involvement in designing and implementing ETL processes, data models, measures, and visualizations to construct dependable dashboards for diverse stakeholders.
    • Engage closely with project teams to define requirements, design tailored implementation strategies, and deliver impactful solutions to our clients.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of testing protocols, technical documentation, and training materials to support system users.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
    • Master's degree in STEM OR equivalent practical experience.
    • 1-3 years of workplace experience, showcasing proficiency in the development/maintenance of ETL processes and data pipelines, data models, and/or visualization tools.
    • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
    • Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving capabilities.

    Desirable Skills:

    • Programming skills with languages like Python, R, Java, Scala, or SQL.
    • Understanding of data modeling and transformation principles.
    • Proficiency in Power BI.
    • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and their data services.
    • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
    • Ability to drive analytical value through graphical design principles.
    • Familiarity with water quality / environmental science.
    • Certifications in Power BI, Azure, and/or Microsoft Fabric are a plus.
