    We are looking for a technically creative Project Development Engineer who is to use their engineering talent, and project leadership skills to solve cutting edge R&D problems.

    The role is also focused on the business impact and how projects translate into commercial applications.

    The main focus of this position is the development of processes which address commercial opportunities and guide the development from lab to commercial scale.


    Responsibilities:

    • Candidates should have a strong background in chemical engineering both from an experimental and modeling perspective. Experience with scale-up of from lab through pilot to commercial scale is a must.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment including the commissioning and start-up is required.
    • Working knowledge of process control is desired.
    • A solid understanding of mechanical engineering constraints in a commercial environment is desirable.
    • Identify and work with external consortiums, research groups and process engineering firms of interest to shepherd process development through various stage gates and lead development of viable solutions.
    • Plan and manage projects to develop and advance new process technology from the laboratory scale, through the pilot scale & commercial implementation, using modeling and statistically-based tools.
    • Establish inclusive and early partnerships with ancillary technical functions such as venturing, corporate strategy and technical centers to proactively plan and gain inputs on process development programs.

    Requirements:

    Degrees:
    BS/MS in chemical engineering or chemistry with 15-17 years' experience in chemical manufacturing with focus on project development.


    • Strong background in engineering principles (mass and energy balances, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, unit operations, reaction kinetics and engineering, fluid mechanics, modeling, etc.) required.
    • Excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills; able to deliver technical messages effectively to non-technical stakeholders and team members
    • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; demonstrated ability to effectively work with individuals at all levels of the organization and across functional disciplines (e.g. business leaders, technicians, chemists, chemical engineers, and manufacturing teams).
    • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deliver on their objectives
