    Description


    The Vice President for Advanced Manufacturing & Applied Sciences Sector is responsible for the Schools of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Sciences and professional leadership in the development of academic programs and skills-based training that are aligned to the State of Indiana's current and future industry sector demands.

    The Vice President works closely with the Senior Vice President of Workforce and Careers, the Provost/Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, campus Vice Chancellors of Academic Affairs, applicable curriculum committees, Sector Vice Presidents focused on Information Technology, Business, Logistics and Supply Chain, Entrepreneurship and Healthcare, and the Vice President of Career Link to ensure the College is providing academic offerings and training aligned to the needs of employers.

    The Vice President will collect voice-of-the-customer and leverage demand-driven data to develop statewide and regional strategies related to the offerings within the School.

    The Vice President will assist and represent the Senior Vice President of Workforce and Careers in establishing and foster strategic linkages with employers, state agencies and associations that can benefit from the College's mission as Indiana's economic development workforce engine.

    * In collaboration with campus leaders and in partnership with sector-based organizations, state agencies, chamber, and economic development entities; and industry associations; set strategy for the School of AMEAS to reflect and align with needs of industry, including emerging industries being recruited to the State: semiconductors, electric vehicle/battery, biotechnology and others.

    * Provide insights to other Sector Vice Presidents and college leadership where advanced manufacturing and/or supply chain advances are being made.

    * Provide and/or facilitate opportunities and mechanisms for chancellors, deans, faculty, Career Link and foundation staff to meet with industry practitioners.

    * Stay current with industry trends, employment projections, and demand-driven data to make recommendations for evolving the College's programs, training, and certifications offerings.

    * In collaboration with academic affairs, lead development of applicable new program proposals and credential offerings and maintain high quality offerings.

    * Assure programs and curricula comply with academic policies and lead or support program accreditation initiatives.

    * Study enrollment, retention, completion, success, and other student data and make recommendations to appropriate senior leadership based on the analysis.

    * Network and collaborate with senior management from employers that are known to set industry demand and trends; are influential statewide, nationwide, or globally; or who employ a significant workforce.

    * Make professional presentations to industry groups, leaders about Ivy Tech programs, capabilities, and resources within the sector.

    * Lead, direct, and support statewide team of deans to the foster the success and growth of the school on campuses.

    * Direct statewide inventories and make recommendations for equipment acquisitions to assure quality program outcomes and promote efficiency.

    * In collaboration with Business Affairs, review sites/locations, ensuring they are adequate and appropriate for offerings to the economic sector.

    * Partner with Career Link to facilitate opportunities for students, including career exploration and high-quality work-based learning opportunities and the development of non-credit skills training.

    * Work with Government Affairs to determine legislative needs and support legislative efforts related to advanced manufacturing, logistics and the applied sciences.

    * Work with Human Resources on strategies to recruit diverse and qualified faculty.

    • Master's degree required, preferably in a field related to the advanced manufacturing and applied sciences.
    • A minimum of three (3) years' related experience in advanced manufacturing, applied sciences, industry, training, educational administration or teaching at the post-secondary level or other related activity.
