    Role SummaryThe Rivian Supply Chain team is looking for highly motivated and exceptional Purchasing Engineering professionals to keep Rivians engineered products on the road.

    In this role, the Advanced Sourcing Engineer will be responsible to bridge the gap between our Purchasing &Engineering departments, supporting the supply chain team in their study of long term industry trends, internal alignment for maximizing our purchasing power, leading cost savings generations, and aligning Rivian standards to market trends.

    You will also take the lead in making sure Rivian can meet its cost targets, suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and parts are received at the highest level of quality.

    In our team, we expect our people to own every aspect of the sourcing process from start to finish and everything in between.

    This role reports to the Vehicle Director in Supply Chain.

    ResponsibilitiesLead the advance sourcing strategy process for the metals commodity areaDevelop strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, competitor trends, and technology roadmapsSupport Purchasing members with discussion & negotiations with their engineering counterpartIdentify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders, including key leadershipSupport detailed analysis of supplier quote submissions based on cost breakdown data and support with should-costsIdentify and implement cost reductions on prototype and series production products and servicesActively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metricsEnsure that the product is matched to the right supplier and ensure the supplier is effective in delivering the product in collaboration with EngineeringLead cost savings initiatives within Purchasing, both for existing parts as well as future designsWork closely with Program Management to track sourcing progress and execute product and vehicle build eventsSupport Supplier Quality plant audits and technical reviewsBe a champion of good, fundamentally-sound execution across the you are supporting and the larger company at handYou will be expected to 'Go Big" for your team to demonstrate how things get doneQualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering.

    Experience in supply chain a plus.10+ years of strategic sourcing or engineering for this commodity specifical with 3+ years involving strategic relationship/support with supply chainorganization5+ years relevant experience with strategic sourcing of automotive commodities.5+ years managing commercial business relationships with large suppliers in an Automotive, Electronics or high-volume manufacturing business.

    10+ years MS OfficeStrong analytical ability to break down complex problems and data sets to derive meaningful, actionable resultsComfort in working independently and in teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentAbility to understand Engineering and Design direction and provide focused supply-chain solutions accordinglyExperience with automotive products, and the design and manufacture thereofPay DisclosureSalary Range for

    California Based Applicants:
    $150,000 - $181,650 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)
