    Job Description:
    We are seeking a skilled QA Test Engineer with a strong emphasis on web accessibility.

    This position is pivotal in ensuring that our software systems meet rigorous accessibility standards, providing inclusive experiences for all users.

    The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related area, along with familiarity with QA standard concepts, practices, and technologies in the field.

    As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and establishing quality assurance standards and measures, with a specific emphasis on web accessibility within our Division of Information Technology Services (ITS).

    Collaborating closely with ITS project teams, you will oversee the quality testing of both in-house and Commercial Off-The
    • Shelf (COTS) products, ensuring they meet accessibility guidelines and deliver inclusive user experiences.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead efforts in developing and implementing web accessibility testing standards and practices for new applications, products, and enhancements throughout their development lifecycles.

    Conduct thorough testing activities to ensure that applications meet accessibility requirements and provide equal access to all users, including those with disabilities.

    Collaborate with project teams to analyze technical documentation and assess system architecture to determine potential accessibility barriers. Develop comprehensive test plans and execute test cases specifically focused on evaluating web accessibility features and functionality. Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing using industry-standard tools and techniques to identify and address accessibility issues.

    Collaborate with software developers, designers, and content creators to provide guidance and support in implementing accessible design and development practices.

    Provide actionable feedback and recommendations for accessibility improvements to development teams based on test results and industry best practices.

    Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and regulations, such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and Section 508, throughout the software development process.

    Champion accessibility initiatives within the organization, raising awareness and promoting a culture of accessibility among team members and stakeholders. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes related to web accessibility testing and compliance. Communicate accessibility test progress, results, and relevant information to project stakeholders and management. Collaborate with other QA analysts to ensure that accessibility considerations are integrated into broader testing efforts and methodologies.
