Job purpose

The Indirect material and services Buyer will handle inventory planning, maintenance and procurements functions and purchasing material

Key responsibilities

+ Issue purchase orders to support all department for their indirect needs

+ Track, manage and provide analytical analysis for indirect material.

+ Read blueprints and understand basic engineering documents toward projects and programs you will assisting with.

+ Submission of RFQ's and RFPs for spares and manage shipment tracking

+ Lead special projects related to continuous improvement of indirect spend

+ Liaise with production and maintenance department to support urgent production activities

+ Conduct preliminary vetting of suppliers (contact information, questionnaire, NDA's, etc.)

+ Support manufacturing team with negotiations for capital

+ Benchmark information, updates & summaries for best-practice/lessons-learned.

+ Negotiates contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.

+ Assesses financial risks of purchases.

+ Attends trade shows, product exhibitions, and conferences to maintain current understanding of new products and trends.

+ Attends meetings with internal cross functional teams, vendors and suppliers.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned.

What were looking for

+ Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED, Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related field preferred.

+ Minimum of one year of experience functioning as a Buyer, Purchasing Specialist, Supply Chain Specialist, Order Scheduler.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong familiarity with SAP.

+ Efficient typing skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and legal aspects of purchasing.

+ Ability to compile information and make decisions.

+ Ability to work under pressure.

+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Experience in Collaborating with suppliers.

+ Technical understanding of Manufacturing.

+ Team and enforcement skills.

+ Ability to travel at least 5% of time
