    PURPOSE

    The Enterprise Business Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of 6-10 enterprises within a Tlingit and Haida, with a primary focus on profitability and sustainable growth.

    The role will involve strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight to ensure the success of each enterprise.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive profitability and growth across the portfolio of enterprises.
    • Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and cost-saving measures.
    • Collaborate with enterprise managers to set goals, objectives, and performance targets.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure effective operational management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to enterprise managers to drive accountability and performance.
    • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the portfolio and drive revenue growth.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including tribal leadership, board members, and external partners.
    • Ensure effective communication and coordination between enterprises to leverage synergies and maximize operational efficiency.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Represent the Tlingit and Haida and the portfolio of enterprises in external meetings, conferences, and events.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)


    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, or related field
    • 6 years' experience in business administration and development
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)


    • Masters's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
    • 4 years' experience in business administration and development

    UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS

    Most of the work is performed in a professional office setting and is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs.

    Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
