    Job DescriptionTitle: Assistant ManagerReports to: General Manager / Resort Owner

    Assistant Managers often exemplify a few characteristics; they are energetic, enthusiastic, and have the ability to lead people. They must love working with people and dogs. They will assist the General Manager in day to day operations, while also overseeing employees in all aspects of the resort, focusing on front-end operations. They need to have the ability to fill in wherever they are needed at any given time, in addition to possessing strong customer service skills. Previous experience is preferred; however, it is not required. Some weekend and holiday hours are required.
    Essential Job Functions:
    • Carries out and attains the mission and goals of the business.
    • Assure all guests are cared for in compliance with the company goals.
    • Maintain a strong resorts culture and lead by following Company Values and Mission
    • Be familiar with budgets, revenue, and controllable expenses
    • Health and safety of the workforce.
    • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and feedback.
    • Monitor/measure customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure staff is always in proper uniform.
    • Well-organized and detail oriented.
    • Must demonstrate a love for dogs.
    • Responsible for assisting the GM/Owner in running of the business
    • Assists the GM/Owner with hiring staff for the resort
    • Supervises all Front-End Staff as well as Back-End Staff when Manager on Duty
    • Greets all customers coming into the building.
    • Check In/Check Out procedures in the point of sale system.
    • Accepts payment from customers.
    • Answers telephone inquiries.
    • Opens/Closes building when necessary (key holder).
    • Provides tours of the building to potential customers.
    • Develops pet feeding/medication schedules.
    • Feeds/medicates dogs when necessary.
    • Maintains employee schedules.
    • Maintains company inventory.
    • Oversees all disinfecting procedures.
    • Has the ability to complete any job requirement of any staff member except the owner.

    Job Requirements:
    • Must complete K9 Resorts Certification Program for Supervisor, CSR and PCT
    • Customer service-oriented
    • Must work any shift outside of their schedule upon request of the GM/Owner
    • Weekend and Holiday hours are required

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in pet boarding / shelter environment
    • Some college preferred
    • Managerial experience recommended but not required

    Technical Skills:
    • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
    • Better than average written and spoken communication skills.
    • Knowledge and experience in business, supervision and management.
    • General knowledge of various employment laws, practices and employee relations.
    • Excellent public speaking skills

    Personal Characteristics:
    • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
    • The ability to retain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Stress tolerance – must be able to remain calm under highly stressful and unexpected situations.
    • Must be dependable and responsible.
    • Must be able to communicate with all types of people, remain calm, mediate and problem solve.
    • Must be of moral and ethical character.
