    Description
    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Supervises department staff and the daily workflow for the department.
    • Select suppliers and place purchase orders that provide the highest quality products with a history of on-time delivery and cost savings benefits.
    • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply of production and related material.
    • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
    • Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
    • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
    • Negotiates pricing and long-term agreements with suppliers.
    • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Thorough understanding of purchasing and supply chain principles and best practices.
    • Interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledgeable of export control and ITAR
    • Working within an AS9100/ISO/Nadcap accredited company
    • Thorough understanding of company products and materials.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Master's degree preferred..
    • Demonstrated work experience within a purchasing role in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace and defense.
    • Supervisory experience leading a team of buyers and supplier managers.
    • Certification by Institute of Supply Management (ISM) or similar preferred.
    • Knowledgeable of government procurement practices.
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics GP.
    • Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 U.S.C. § 6010
