- Assists in preparing food
- Prepares residents' food according to their specific nutritional needs as specified on their diet cards
- Remains alert to residents' changing dietary and health concerns
- Prepares food trays and beverages
- Uses all kitchen equipment appropriately
- Prepares food serving areas for use and serves and delivers food
- Sets up dining room tables with appropriate dishes and silverware
- Prepares food serving areas, including steam table and salad bar
- Serves residents in the dining area and delivers meals an beverages to healthcare residents
- Monitors residents to verify that they are eating the foods specified on their diet cards
- Follows HACCP standards for preparing, handling, serving and storing food
- Ensures food is served and stored at correct temperatures
- Uses food and supplies appropriately to maintain budget
- Understand and follows food portion controls
- Avoids wasting food or supplies
- Cleans in assigned areas
- Cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas
- Assists dishwasher in washing and putting away dishes
- Takes out trash
- Sweeps, mops, or vacuums kitchen and dining room floors
- Clears and wipes down tables in the dining room
- Uses good sanitation practices as described in HACCP standards
- Must be 16 years old
- Must be able to spend most of the day walking, standing, stooping or bending and be able to lift 50 pounds
- Work every other weekend
- Past experience in food service is preferred
