    Job DescriptionThe Security Manager is responsible for managing processes and standards of life safety, security and rapid response for all guests and colleagues as well as the training of team members in the security department and associates throughout the hotel.

    In addition, performing administrative task that are required for the department to operate. The candidate is required to have a proven background in Security with strong organizational, administrative and Guest Service skills.

    Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Loss Prevention, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
    Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service to both internal and external guest.
    Review daily reports, arrival, VIP, group and ensure proper execution of the details therein.
    Work closely with all Departments to safeguard assets and ensure compliance in all life safety and security areas.
    Perform colleague bag check and locker check programs within the hotel.
    Administers Hotel Key Program, and access for colleagues.
    Admin to the security camera system. Provide training to new team members. Ensure that key system is always in working order and report any issues.
    Ensures security team is prepared and has a rapid response culture to all requests.
    Ensures security team is prepared and responds to all first aid needs.
    Ensures security team is prepared and responds to all guest and colleague incidents and accidents.
    Ensures clear, concise and factual reporting of all incidents, accidents and roundsAttends required meetings.
    Ensures team monitors security of all space and assets throughout shift.

    Provide Life Safety training during orientation of new associates, coordinating with T&C.Provide Life Safety Refresher training annually to departments, coordinating with T&CProvide New hire training for new security team members.

    Manage and train CPR, AED, Choking for associates that are required.

    Manage and train Fire response for hotel and coordinate drills with PNC.Manage and train Active shooter program an accordance with Accor standards, coordinating drill with local PD.Participate in local city government hotel safety meetings.

    Drive or assist Director in special projects for department.
    Department administrative duties, such as scheduling, Labor meetings, payroll.
    Complete required monthly department meeting for security department.
    Create and drive a health and Safety committee monthly meeting, finding ways to minimize risk to the property.
    Conduct annual loss prevention required audits and follow up on any deficient items.
    Ensure department specific OSHA requirements are met.
    Manage life safety contact notification tree for emergencies.
    Update life safety manuals for departments quarterly.
    Ensure cleanliness and organization of security offices.

    Manage the lost and found systemQualifications:
    QualificationsMust have a minimum of 2 years previous experience in an upscale hospitality environment.
    Previous supervisory experience in a security roleCPR, AED certified.
    Excellent leadership, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with multitasking prioritization.

    Qualifications
    Education High School diploma or equivalent or vocational training * Bachelors Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management or related field is an asset
    • Certifications in Security or Law Enforcement related fields is an asset
      Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in Facility/Workplace security
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Security Management preferred
    • Experience in Security Management in a resort atmosphere is an asset
      Licenses or Certificates State of Hawaii Guard Card
    • Valid Drivers License and clean drivers abstract
    • CPR/First Aid Certification
    • Maui County Liquor Card
    • Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) certification is an asset
    • Fire safety certification is an asset
