- Build, maintain, and document processes written in: SQL, DBT, and Python
- Ensure proper pipeline execution on our cloud stack: Argo, Kubernetes, AWS
- Effectively integrate machine learning solutions into the core product by working closely with Data Scientists
- Execute on engineering and release priorities successfully through strong leadership and communication
- Perform code reviews and collaborate with other team members on data engineering standards and best practices
- 5+ years of relevant data warehouse and/or data engineering experience
- Experience in medium to large data pipeline design, development and automation written in SQL and Python
- Experience with scaling data solutions both vertically and horizontally
- Comfortable working with DevOps teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines
- Experience leading code reviews
- Capable of finding solutions to problems and using a full arsenal of debugging tools
- Comfortable with the terminal and simple bash scripts
- Experience with Git version control and repository management in Gitlab
- Any form of dynamic pricing systems experience is a plus

Why this role
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the core Data Science team focusing on building, innovating, and maintaining our dynamic pricing product. In this role you will help plan and execute new projects while supporting the current pipeline which services over $1 Billion in booking value annually. You will be empowered to own your work from end to end and work cross-functionally with other development teams to ensure that work translates into real world impact.
The ideal candidate for this role is deeply technical, analytical, and process-oriented. You must anticipate and embrace the challenge of solving critical business problems in a fast-paced environment. We're looking for someone who is a self-starter, willing to perform a variety of responsibilities and would be comfortable working with cross-functional teams. This position is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the travel industry and have an immediate and meaningful impact at one of its fastest-growing companies.

Compensation
Annual base salary range: $141,000 - $172,000, depending on relevant experience and location in the US, range could be higher than posted. This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance.
