The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, UW Health Deforest-Windsor Clinic, is seeking a Family Medicine physician to provide the full spectrum of family medicine skills and to provide patient care. The Deforest-Windsor clinic prefers to recruit a colleague to practice Family Medicine with OB.

Overview of Position:

• Provide full spectrum family medicine skills and patient care in outpatient clinic setting, with opportunities to do procedures.
• Practice is preferred to include OB/maternity care and newborn rounding.

DFMCH is seeking family medicine physicians who encompass a variety of skills that relate to how they engage with patients and work in teams. Faculty at UW-Madison have the opportunity for professional growth that will allow them to pursue additional clinical and academic interests. In addition to their clinic roles, faculty may have opportunities to practice OMT, Integrative Health, inpatient medicine, POCUS, and more. There are also opportunities in the medical school for formal teaching roles, may be opportunities within the organization for leadership roles, and may also be scholarly research focused projects and committees that a faculty member can participate. Clinical duties are defined with department leadership approval based on the finalists career interests and based on the clinical needs.

About the Clinic:

The Deforest-Windsor clinic is comprised of nine faculty physicians, three advanced practice providers, as well as numerous team members that care for patients. They provide care for patients with substance use disorders and have one faculty member who provides obstetrical care. The team provides behavioral health support and educators for nutrition and diabetes as well. They function well as a team, and enjoy coming to work to see each other every day.

Requirements:

• MD or DO or equivalent
• Wisconsin medical licensure required prior to start date.
• Certification by or eligible for certification by American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
• Successful completion of a fully accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.

Anticipated start date: July-Fall 2024 (remains flexible for final candidate)
