    Job Purpose

    MRO Storeroom Repair buyer is to manages the repair process and operations across all HDMA to maintain and select supply base for repair warranty, core credit, and repair vs. new values. Manages Repair Request to accurately place purchase orders and work directly with supply base, will also need to record pertinent information to process repairs correctly. High Level determination needed as to whether items should be scrapped sent to obsolescence or repair required ($7M program)

    Key Accountabilities

    • Manages repair request to assure accuracy and record pertinent information needed to source repair supply base.
    • High Level decision making with supplier to identify gaps and develops specific countermeasures to mitigate risk of critical issues and lost production.
    • Makes final decision based on if item should be scrapped, sent to obsolescence, or sent for repair based off of 50% cost of new or equipment linkage.
    • Issues & Manages entire purchase orders process via SAP based on cost and protecting production. Makes final decision on updates, late orders, and work as the liaison between end users and supply base. Ensure sufficient inventory levels to support warehouse and plant production.
    • Makes final decision on inventory and non inventory order fulfillment based off of dollar amount, quantity on hand, and if equipment is discontinued to protect production
    • Make Final Supply Chain decision regarding shipping methods based on cost and delivery. (ex. FedEx shipments for larger material; schedule UPS shipments for smaller parcels)
    • Makes final decision on Repair Suppliers based on Decision Analysis utilizing core roles and technical expertease (sets supplier maker layout for repairs across NA)
    • Develop and countermeasure weekly reporting triggers (KPI) and report to Dept./Division management across NA.
    • Responsible for repair spare part inventory management to protect production; Makes final decision on warranty, core credit and repair vs. new values.
    • Analyize quotes and update repair orders with appropriate pricing. Strive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for area of responsibility (supplier selection, control management, Supplier Problem Management,5P and 4 block etc) Makes final decision to delete orders if deemed to be a noneconomical repair.

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills

    • Bachelors of Science degree in business or 4 years equivalent, relevant experience
    • Spare parts technical experience can be substituted as formal educational training.
    • Knowledge of basic inventory management and manufacturing workflow.
    • Effectively sell ideas, securing buy-in from individuals or teams

    Workstyle

    • Mixture of office, warehouse, and manufacturing atmosphere
    • Weekly domestic travel
    • 5 to 10 hours weekly overtime
