CANDIDATE MUST BE APHLEBOTOMIST

Pathology/grossroom experience HIGHLY preferred
(5) 8 hour shifts for40 hours/week

Location:

PIEDMONT FAYETTE HOSPITAL

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Performs sample processing and exempt screeningand monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA andthe Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicableregulatory, established standards as may be applicable.

Performsvenipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordancewith Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff innon-clinicaltasks.

MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:


High School graduate orGED

MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:


One (1) year of experience as aphlebotomist, laboratory processor or laboratory assistant. Currentenrollment in a Medical Technologist or Medical LaboratoryTechnician program may be substituted forexperience.

MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW:


None

ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:


Working knowledge of clinicallaboratory processes is preferred. Experience in performing EKGs ispreferred. Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratorysetting ispreferred.
