DESCRIPTION
Summary of Primary Purpose
Incumbent ensures all orders are shipped on time and delivered accordingly based on the customers' expectations using current company software, shipping protocols and logistics programs.
Description of Major Responsibilities
Complete all tasks and assignments within current safety guidelines and practices.
Participates in company Continuous Improvement programs
Daily reports (Huhtamaki orders, shortages, on time updates).
Utilize all necessary reports and Accellos / BCPS programs to perform day to day duties.
Schedule trucks appointments.
Check driver's in and out in timely manner.
Release orders for shipping notating shortages, accurate shipping date and time on order.
Accurate confirmation in Accellos / BCPS of all inbound and outbound shipments
Assist in repackaging projects if needed.
Support corporate programs/carriers/transportation systems using only approved suppliers.
Escalate carrier pick-up failures to Logistics Coordinators.
Schedule interplant movements and ensure full truck utilization (less than truckload)
Complete carrier paperwork.
Responsible for timely and accurate order entry for all shipments.
Support inbound and Raw Materials as needed.
Responsible for multiple internal and external systems: BCPS, Accellos, Fed Ex and UPS.
Comply with the appropriate Business Rules and Guidelines.
Rotates into all normal Logistics Clerk job assignments as needed throughout Warehouse Dept.
Performs other related job duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
May fill in for supervisor on an as needed basis.
REQUIREMENTS
Physical Requirements
Will work in a shipping/receiving environment and will use a computer, printer, copier, fax machine, scanner and telephone.
Requires walking (flexible) and sitting (flexible).
Requires full range of body motion such as twisting, bending, reaching at/above/below shoulders and lifting to 20 lbs., on a regular basis, and agility to handle all products.
Visual requirements include near far acuity, depth perception and peripheral vision.
Qualifications
Requires three (3) + years' experience in a warehouse or manufacturing operation or equivalent experience.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Must process strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with employees at all levels.
Must have thorough knowledge of the company's shipping, receiving and inventory control functions
Must process good communication skills to deal with outside vendors and inside departments.
Must be able to work independently.
Possess a basic understanding of the Accellos and BCPS Inventory Control and shipping menus.
Performs other related job duties as assigned by the supervisor
Basic educational level background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or equivalent preferred.
