    Job Title:
    Physical Therapy Assistant PACE

    Job Summary

    Provides Physical Therapy Services to participants of the Florida PACE Centers, Inc. Assists with assessments, treatment, and documentation under the supervision of the Licensed Physical Therapist.

    Essential Job Functions


    • Assists in treatment of physical therapy participants under the direction of a Licensed Physical Therapist
    • Documents participant treatment in the medical record according to policies and procedures
    • Reports observation of the participant's performances and responses to the Licensed Physical Therapist
    • Assist Physical Therapist with ordering equipment, durable medical equipment, and supplies
    • Prepares participant's weekly schedule and assignments in a timely manner
    • Reports equipment malfunction immediately and maintains an adequate level of supplies per established procedures
    • Participates as an active member of IDT providing updates regarding the needs or progress of participants
    • Explains Physical Therapy services to participants, caregivers and members of IDT
    • Attends and participates in committees and family member meetings
    • Provides in services as needed to participants and staff members
    • Participates in in-services and meetings as needed
    • Adheres to standards of care, clinical guidelines and protocols in rendering care to participants, including precautions and contraindications
    • Consults with other PACE disciplines as directed regarding participant concerns and activity adaptations.
    • Provide supervision, guidance and assistance to rehabilitation aides and students in their delivery of services and reports as indicated to OT regarding pertinent issues.
    • Utilizes appropriate safety measures when providing care to participants and other job duties.
    • Performs related non-clinical services necessary to maintain the efficient operation of the Physical Therapy department, and adjusts schedule as required to meet the needs of participants.
    • Protects privacy and maintains confidentiality of employee, participant, sensitive agency information and supports Quality Improvement efforts.
    Job Requirements


    Education:

    • Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant

    Experience:

    • 1 year of experience in physical therapy and experience working with geriatric population preferred

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Current Florida State License as a Physical Therapist Assistant
    • Valid Florida driver's license
    • Proof of insurance
    Abilities Required


    • Demonstrates a caring attitude toward participants, family members, employees and other facility visitors and guests
    • Current knowledge of safety issues needed in the treatment of participants, especially regarding body mechanics and body substance precautions to protect self, participants and personnel
    • Excellent human relations and communication skills

    • Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation

    Infectious Material Exposure:

    • No routine exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues, but may occasionally require performing unplanned activities which may involve exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues
