    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a Massachusetts RN license, Epic proficiency, and the ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips on 12-hour night shifts.

    Responsibilities
    Float Pool position covering all Med/Surg Telemetry units within the hospital
    Patient population includes a wide variety of surgical patients with an overflow of medical patients
    12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
    Weekend and holiday rotation required
    Epic EMR used; experience required
    No telemetry technicians on unit — all RNs are required to independently read and interpret their own telemetry strips
    8-week contract
    Float coverage across all Med/Surg Telemetry units
    RNs must independently read and interpret telemetry strips — no tele techs are present on the unit
    Pre-acceptance pass/fail testing is required: a Dysrhythmia test (20 questions) and a Medication test (20 questions), each with an 85% passing score — only one attempt is allowed with no opportunity for remediation or re-testing
    Testing is administered via Zoom and must be completed within 48 hours of confirmation; a study guide with tips and answers is provided to help candidates prepare
    COVID vaccine and booster and flu vaccine are required; medical exemptions are accepted
    Previous employees of any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility (travel, permanent, or per diem) must have a minimum 6-month break before returning to be eligible for consideration

    Requirements
    Active Massachusetts RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration

    Current certifications required:
    BLS and ACLS
    Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
    Epic EMR experience required
    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
    Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
