    Job Summary

    In this position, the candidate will provide pharmaceutical care to patients requiring infused medications through the UK Specialty Pharmacy


    Responsibilities include:
    Serve as the primary liaison between UK Specialty Pharmacy and UK's infusion centers. Insure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy is implemented for all patients in their care and monitor care appropriately. Facilitates the formulary review process for infused medications. Participates in appropriate hospital and/or departmental committees relevant to practice area. Responsible for supervising PharmD students, technicians, undergraduate and graduate student teaching, and providing educational programs for hospital staff.

    Establish safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients.

    Skills / Knowledge / Abilities


    Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; a team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

    Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience

    PharmD and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program (or equivalent experience) preferred.
