- Full-time, academically driven, clinical practice in the Orthopedic Surgery sub-specialty area of Hand & Upper Extremity.
- Department assigned surgical time in various operative spaces to include inpatient, outpatient, or ambulatory surgery center.
- Dedicated Nurse for continuity of care.
- Ability to grow team through future acquisition of an Advanced Practice Provider
- On-site access to musculoskeletal occupational therapists, dedicated to Orthopedics.
- Access to a multitude of other shared clinical and administrative resources: Research coordinators and other Pre-Award staff through the Research Institute.
- Academic resources, through the Faculty Affairs Department and an Orthopedic specific Vice Chair of Faculty Development.
- Two Orthopedic specific laboratories (the Harrington Laboratory for Molecular Orthopedics, and the Orthopedic Research and Education Center
- Shared administrative resources such as Orthopedic specific billing and coding team, pre-certification, administrative assistant, centralized Orthopedic scheduling team, clinic registration.
- Additional clinical support staff for clinic rooming, casting.
- In clinic access to x-ray imaging and DME capabilities.
- Participation in the advancement, mentoring, and education of medical students, general surgery interns, orthopedic surgery residents, and Sports Medicine fellows, if indicated
- Participation in clinical, operational, and academic decision-making, improvement efforts, committees, and activities

The University of Kansas Health System, the official healthcare provider for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, is seeking an Orthopedic Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeon, who has completed an ACGME accredited Orthopedic residency program, Hand & Upper Extremity, or Shoulder and Elbow fellowship, and is either ACGME board certified or board eligible.
The ideal candidate is interested in the further development of our hand and upper extremity service line in both an academic and community location as well as collaboration with the external departments and associated facilities for specialty specific call coordination.
Candidates with interests in maximizing appropriate site of service surgery location, focusing on patient access, and providing treatment of all upper extremity associated problems ranging from the simple to extremely complex is ideal.
