    Camp Gundalow - 176 Tuttle Lane, 176 Tuttle Lane, Greenland, New Hampshire, United States of America Req #1494Thursday, February 8, 2024Camp Gundalow, in Greenland NH, is seeking Unit Leaders for the summer 2024 season If you are looking for a fulfilling summer job where you can build your leadership skills, have a meaningful impact on others, and enjoy your summer playing games and having fun with a supportive team this is the opportunity for YOUOur camp, a traditional day camp serves youth ages 5-12 while coaching campers to build relationships, try new things, make memories, and ensure camper safety all while having fun and acting as positive role models.

    We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn, grow and thrive during your tenure at the Y.Unit Leaders oversee a group of same-aged campers and are responsible for planning and implementing their daily activities and schedule.

    Unit Leaders supervise several Jr Counselors and Counselors and are responsible for our campers' safety, engagement and primary point of success at camp.


    Responsibilities:
    Build positive nurturing relationships with campers that fosters Character buildingBuild cooperative relationships with coworkers, supervisors and parents; supervision of staff teamDevelop, implement, and manage camper group activities and scheduleLead and participate in a variety of camp activities arts & crafts, STEM, active games and moreSupport the delivery of specialty programmingEngage positively in camp life in a variety of weather and locations indoors, outside, aquatics area, in the rain, summer heat, and beyondManage camper behaviors using the camper success and safety planUphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and CourageBuild and maintain effective relationships with parents through open communicationQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent, some college credits or certifications in a related field preferredHave at least 2 years of experience working with youth at camp or similar setting; experience facilitating activities in a recreation settingPossess strong organizational and group management skillsMust be willing and able to obtain CPR & First Aid Certifications, or currently holdMust be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp seasonAble to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible, and positive attitude to work

    Position Specifics:

    Camp season runs 06/17/2024 through 08/23/2024 and must be able to work most of the camp weeksYear-round employment opportunities are available with the YMCA.
