    Summary About the Position:

    This position is located at the Human Resources Command, The Adjutant General Directorate, Soldier Programs Services Division, Fort Knox, KY.

    Serves as a technical program assistant and administrative contact in the exchange of information/data between the VA and DMDC. Responsibilities Makes corrections identified/verified by the VA, the Soldier, and Congressional staffers. Reviews information concerning individual service members separated under varying conditions and complex eligibility requirements. Researches, verifies, and corrects the education incentive/entitlements database as required.

    Responds to inquiries from Congress, HQDA, IMCOM's, Unit Commanders, individual service members, loan servicing agencies, and institutions of higher education.

    Prepares responses to the Army Board for Correction of Military Records relative to Post 9/11 GI Bill, MGIB, and LRP.

    Specialized Experience:
    One year of specialized experience which includes 1)

    Assisting in completion of personnel actions in a wide variety of functional areas, such as:
    Promotions, board support, benefit programs, awards and decorations, retirements, occupational specialties, ID cards, commissary cards, retirement points accounting, SGLI, incentive programs, reclassifications, transfers, accessions, resignations, assignments, reassignments, separations, extensions of service, transfers between service components, official credentials, correction of errors to files, discharges and/or other corrections to the official military record, 2)

    Using a number of computer software packages in the performance of assigned duties which may include, but are not limited to:

    Word processing, database management, electronic mail, the Army Training Requirements and Resource System (ATRRS), ARPERCEN Orders and Resource System (AORS), Personnel Electronic Management System, (PERMS), Reserve Data Management System (RDMS), Total Army Personnel Data Base-Reserve (TAPDB-R), Active Guard Reserve Management Information System (AGRMIS), Integrated Work Station QWS), Contact Tracking System (CTS), Request Vacancy System (RVS), data queries and automated forms packages, AND 3) demonstrating courtesy, tact and good judgment to provide effective customer service and assistance to the managed population, supported commands and agencies, and internal offices within the organization.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).


    Time in Grade Requirement:

    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
