Job summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating power industrial trucks for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise.The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties in addition to his or her own.
This role involves receiving/put-away tasks such as unloading inbound shipments safely moving product to storage locations inputting data accurately into WMS efficiently stacking storing product in appropriate areas maintaining an organized work area order picking pulling preparing shipment ensuring exact number type product being loaded shipped performing picking duties efficiently that meets customer service standards prepare freight operations accurately timely manner required quality ensuring inbound outbound shipments accurate free damage reporting quality variances delivery efficiently moves product from staging staging docks proper documentation accompany freight inventory keeping records reports guarantee tight inventory control security maintained assist physical inventories ensure proper stock rotation safety housekeeping compliance maintain clean neat orderly work area assist security warehouse will comply with all Standard Operating Procedures corporate site-specific policies load unload move stack stage product materials using forklift clamp truck drum attachment other power equipment maintain facility equipment materials neat clean orderly fashion daily inspect perform minor maintenance on forklift equipment operate all equipment safe efficient manner following prescribed work methods associates must maintain active forklift certification maintenance perform or assist building grounds equipment maintenance assigned other duties site specific change fuel tanks on forklifts participate physical inventories labeling sorting wrapping packing repacking needed repair pallets trailers truck bays requested help maintain facility provide clean safe work environment performs other duties as required work overtime dictated business whether mandatory voluntary supervisory responsibilities none minimum required qualifications education experience high school diploma general education degree ged months experience working logistics distribution relevant environment able operate mhe must be able work unregulated temperatures within warehouse during warmer colder months can range mild moderate dsv equal employment opportunity employer candidates considered employment regard race creed color national origin age sex religion ancestry disability veteran status marital status gender identity sexual orientation national origin any characteristic protected applicable federal state local law if require special assistance accommodation seeking employment dsv please contact human resources if you are interested in learning the status of your application please note you will be contacted directly by the appropriate human resources contact person if you are selected further consideration dsv reserves right defer close vacancy time
